With commercial/business GPS tracking and monitoring as a core business, NavStar will expand into the personal GPS tracking and monitoring market segments. The same hardware platform used for the personal products will be used to develop services for the machine to machine market segment (pipelines, meters, tanks).
Strategic technology and synergistic acquisitions will be pursued as well as joint venture opportunities in Japan, Korea and the Philippines.
The NavStar is positioned to take full advantage of two current market trends.
(1) Location Based Services (the use of GPS to provide services based on an user’s location) market is in the inauguration stage of growth.
(2) GPS products and services are predicted to continue to grow at record velocity as hardware prices lowered and new services are added.
